    Default fiat grande punto

    56 reg, 1.2, 8v, engine management light on, rev counter not working, only fault code is no rpm signal, could anyone advise on this, does the rpm signal come from crank sensor, thanks

    yeah bro
    the crank sensor is right in the midle
    where the gear box meets the engine
    check that its a little magnetic piece that
    sometimes gets dirty try to clean it
    or just buy a new one thats not even expensive
    about 20***8364;

    The rev counter will get its signal from ECU, crank sensor > ecu > rev counter, normally it will not start if crank sensor is ~~~~ed, does it start and run ? if not check live data while cranking to see if you get rpm, if its the early 1.2 8v the crank sensor is on the bottom pulley

    the car starts fine ,it does take a bit though,could it be ecu thats gone faulty

    just to say i changed crank sensor, now car is spot on and rev counter working, thanks for the help guys, superb

    liteace, you were spot on crank sensor was on bottom pulley, thanks for the help m8. thanks
