Car complains of engine speed sensor fault, has been replaced twice.
iv read somewer that there is a fixed flash file available for these
if some1 can supply it would be great
2004 Golf V 1.9TDI (105 hp) engine ecu( eng code BKC )
thanks

what's hw and sw number?
also once fought with this problem, these engines were 3 types of sensors two gray and one black, you have to perfectly fit the sensor, in my case I had a substitution of some of the same and also did not work, it was only later I put another and work as you had gray you have a 50% chance of you can match the correct
here is the flash file from galletto

can any check for me plz

remove dtc codes will not solve the problem
the car has had 3 crankshaft sensors
in ross tech wiki it shows that these ecu's have been given a new upgraded flash and also given extra earth installation

the dump that you sent is 100% original
may be you have probleme with wires!!
i don't anderstand!! in 1st post you speak about speed sensor fault
and now you say 3crankshaft sensors was remplaced
they are very different this 2 sonsors!!!
The Engine Speed Sensor (G28) is also used as a reference sensor for the crankshaft position and correlates with the Camshaft Position Sensor Bank 1 (G40) and Camshaft Position Sensor Bank 2 (G163).
see section special notes

dtcP0321:crankshaft sensor
chek 5v betwen pin1 and pin3
pin1 crankshaft sensor--------pin B42 ecu (+5v)
pin2 crankshaft sensor--------pin B58 ecu (signal)
pin3 crankshaft senso________pin B57 ecu (gnd)
if the probleme is in flywheel (volan moteur) you shuld see the signal by using osciloscope to make diagnostic
no relation with speend sensor
so whats the speed sensor then mate
"I always tell the truth. Even when I lie"

the speed sensor is emplanted in gearbox to mesure the speed of the car when move(km/h)
and crankshaft sensor is emplanted between engine and gearbox to mesure the speed of engine(rpm)
im sorry mate, going to have to disagree with you on this one
on a VAG car, the "Engine speed sensor" IS the crankshaft sensor as it gives the ENGINE speed, not the vehicle speed, the vehicle speed (k/mh) is taken from the ABS sensors
i even quoted you a section from ross tech and gave you the link

Hello Dear DK FRIEND (z786)
1) I dont know if you use scan vas ? this device is verry imported about your problam ,you can use (guided fault finding) & in this test you can get all information or manual about you fault & how you check all sensors ,and in the system can you do update ecu if your ecu needed update,
so i wish for you Good Luck.....
iv used VCDS which is the next best thing
car while driving cuts out, then doesnt start for ages
it gives error code for engine speed sensor no signal
from the research i have done it shows engine flash needs upgrading
heres the sections from rosstech site
"When found in a 2004 VW Golf, Jetta, or New Beetle with 1.9l TDI-PD (BEW), check for TSB 2010461 (01-07-45 formerly 97-05-03) or 201463 (01-07-44 formerly 97-05-04) calling for a flash update to the ECU and a secondary ground installation."
Has any1 got an upgraded flash please?
or any other solution

sometimes this fault is not caused by the sensor itself and you replaced it twice. it happen to me once on a GOLF MK4 and the problem was the target on the flywheel. but to inspect this you have to remove gearbox and see. for my case target was totally damaged (how ? don't know)
