Hi everyone,
I've been rewiring my house with Cat6 and Satellite connections in every room, so that I can potentially put a receiver wherever I want.
There are 10 rooms, and I've put 2 connections in each room (so there can potentially be a twin-tuner in each room). I'm new to all the satellite stuff but I've been reading around and I've decided to have two dishes - a fixed one for Sky UK, and a motorised one for other satellites. Therefore I have decided to go for the 9x24 multiswitch route.
I understand that I will have problems contolling the 2nd dish's motor through the multiswitch so I have decided to either use a standalone positioner, or connect the multiswitch output to my main receiver via the motor.
That's the basic setup, but I have a question regarding cardsharing... If I put my Sky card in my main receiver, I understand I can set up my main receiver as a server and the other receivers can share the card details by connecting to my main receiver. That's simple enough. I just wondered:
1) Is there a limit to the number of receivers that can share my Sky card?
2) If I were to share somebody else's card (over the internet), can I use the server details on all of my receivers?
