    Default Cummins PowerSpec

I was wondering what exactly does PowerSpec do.

Here is one version of it, and how do you licence it, is there a crack out there for it.

Hey Rs Power spec is just like insite a little bit. You can read and clear fault codes and do direct engine edits. Its also good for setting up fleet info and allows you to keep images of your ecm's so to speak. I have been working and searching for a while and haven't found a crack out there for it yet and I'm still searching. But it's a nice little program especially if you deal in fleet's your able to set up everything and basically can tell if anyone ever tampers with the ECM settings other than you.

Hey Rs just been doing a little playing around with power spec and you can use the insite key gen to make a key but power spec is only numbers and no letters in the key. Still playing with it if can come up with a solution I will let you know what I find out!

PowerSpec lets fleets check & clear codes. I'm suprised you can edit parameters with it, as I didn't think it could do that.

Power Spec is also used by sales people to get correct truck configuration (engine, RPM, transmission, tire size, etc...)

If you have Insite, you don't need PowerSpec.

You can actually download powerspec for free: Cummins PowerSpec

That website describes in more detail what it does.

yes you can do direct engine edit with power spec and you can set up fleet accounts and do ecm images for fleets as long as your running all the same engines this way if you happen to loose an ecm cal you can revert back to another ecm cal off another truck and get yu back up running but in order to do the direct engine edit you need a code to be able to do it and as I mentioned to Rs I've been messing with the insite key gen but power spec is all numbers and no letters.

The program is so stupid Cummins will give you a password for free! Just call any district tech support and ask for it. It was no problem for me two years ago.

PowerSpec is a fleet management tool, designed for fleet managers as opposed to Insite designed for technicians.
PowerSpec does not do anything that Insite canot do. And Insite does a lot more than PowerSpec can do.
What you describe here about losing an ECM, is called a template in Insite.
Right click a saved Insite job image and convert to template, then download the template to ECM, set up a fleet with identical parameters.

yes i knew about power spec being for fleet management. But there is also a spot in it where you are able to direct engine edits with it and it does require a license for it. Myself I don't care for the program. I would rather use Insite over power Spec but as you know when working for a company the powers to be when they are told something they swear by it and have told them it isn't worth a thing but thanks for the info. I will definitely pass this on so the issue won't be pushed to use the program.
