Default Audi A4 B5 broken dash - swap?

    Hello,

friend of mine has a broken dash in a Audi A4 B5 from 04/2000, 110PS TDI.
I want to get a used dash from ebay and swap it with original one.

With VCDS i get this infos about original dash:
    8D0 920 900 (KOMBI+WEGFAHRS. M73 D16)

Is it possible to swap dash and program it to work with vcds and a kkl-interface?
Would try to read old and new pin with kkl and vag eeprom programmer 1.19.

Can i read dash and immo eeprom from original one and write it to used one with vag eeprom programmer? Or is it better to read only pins and use vcds to adapt used dash?

    thanks a lot!

M73 dash - immo is stored in 912 MCU.
You cannot read with vag eeprom sw.

If it is Immo3 and a matched pair then login is the same.

    It's a matched pair. I have to check if it's Immo3.
    Thanks!

I've checked it. It's Immo2 so login should be different to EDC15...

In description of VAG K + CAN COMMANDER i read:
List of vehicles covered from function odometer change via OBDII:
    Audi A3 VDO/M73 up to 2003 (K)
    Audi A4 VDO/M73 (K) Audi bosch RB4 Crypto (2002)

List of vehicles covered from function security access code/login reading via OBDII:
    Audi A3 VDO/M73 up to 2003 (K)
    Audi A4 VDO (K) Audi bosch RB4 Crypto (2002)

Does this mean odometer change works with A4 M73 and login reading dont? Or does it fail at login part?

...you need to read the 4 digit pincode from new dashboard with for example vagdash, then connect vcds and ad keys to dash....or just fix the old one :-)

You need 2 pin code ,one for the original dash, second for the used dash, after u need swap it with vcds in canal 50
    17 instrument
11 acces ( put pin from used dash)
    10 adaptation canal 50
    put original pin and save
    06 quit
    After
    17 instrument
    acces put original pin code
    10 adaptation
canal 21 put number of key and save
    06 quit

For this type of dash you need upa usb is a best tool to read MCU .
    Knowledge creates mysteries.

@mecano_diag: Thanks for this infos. VCDS is not the problem.
My problem is reading old PIN from used M73 dash.
Have to see if i get upa usb or another tool.
