Default BMW X5 E53 transfer case actuator coding?

    Hi!

Car mentioned in the thread name throws fault code 5F3A DSC Transfer Case Malfunction. ESP 4x4 light is ON.

As far as I know, this part needs to be replaced:
BMW 27107566296 Transfer Case Motor | Compare Prices

Am I correct? Word on the street is this part needs coding. Since I have zero-to-none experience with coding on BMW vehicles, could somebody point me in the right direction? Can this be done or do I have to take the vehicle to the stealer?

try activate transfer case motor with gt1 if not work you must verify conection then replace motor. Normal procedure is that you have to adapt motor with gt1 but sometimes I am replacing it and all work ok

    Hi!

I don't have GT1. All I have is BMW Commander (Abrites).

You do not need to code the motor. Just replace it. You can do calibration of the motor with GT1 but it will be done automatically when you turn the key off, you will hear the motor run. So, replace it, clear the code, turn the key off and you done. Don't forget to check the fluid.

Yes 5F3A means motor is bad.
