    Default Cummins ISM Low Power

Engine in Foden Truck and the driver is complaining of low power and slow pickup when accelerating. Engine smoking black when under load and fuel consumption has increased.

Insite scan has shown no active or inactive fault codes, checked the turbo and after cooler lines and found nothing unusual, new air and fuel filters but no improvement. Did a top set but same results.

What I noticed before changing air filter is that it was black as though exhaust soot is being sucked into filter but no leaks was found on the exhaust. The driver told me that he has to change his air filter reguarly because the filter is always clogged with exhaust soot.

    What am I missing here

Check that boost pressure sensor is not stuck in range.
Boost leak, If not cracked aftercooler, then rocker housing gasket. Fodens always crack the aftercooler, pressure test it.

Thanks JC you seems to be the one who is always having some positive advice, will carry out the tests you outlined and will post for forum to know the findings

    Thanks again
