Default Best Solderless mod chip for GC2-D2E

I just opened our new Wii trying to verify which is the best chip and clip for my system. I have a GC2-D2E with the new metal clip(with number 2 on it) on the back of the drive. The 3 chips that seem to be the most popular are D2Pro9 V3, Wasabi V3, and Wiikey2. I have heard that both have some issues such as the eject issue. I also wanted some suggestions of the best place to get the chip presoldered to the wiiclip. I was thinking of ordering from modchipcentral.com.

    Default Prefer hardware mod

I prefer a hardware mod. It will be easier for my kids when playing backups. Any advice on which solderless chip/clip to choose. Also best site to purchase.

Wiikey V2 and wiikey clip, a doddle to fit, check what chip you have first though as the DB2 (I think it is) has to have 4 legs desolder or the drive doesnt work.

I use the D2SUN V3 they can be used with any chipset. I have used loads of them not one complaint. You can get them here also Home :: Mod Chips /Wii Chip/D2Pro/Wiikey Chip/Wii Chip Installation/Wii Repair/Nintendo DS R4

Just fitted a DriveKey to daughters Wii (first time I have modded a Wii ) it was quite simple to do as long as you are gentle opening the console.
The chip works fine and it is truely solderless.
I would recommend this chip to any noobies and novices.

Read a few complaints from people saying they have non working drivekey mods. Not sure if it's a teething problem or it's down to bad installs. I know a lot of 1st time wii modders have emerged.

I've installed 4 now and had no problems but a little expensive. if you can solder I'd still go for wiikey v2 but drivekey is great if you can't...

    jim
