    Default dreambox no power

I've got a dreambox 800 pvr and a supreme dark motor.
Everything had been working well for a couple of months then a couple of days ago the dish only moved sporadically.
It stopped moving at all today so I went up the ladder and there were no lights working on the dark motor.
So I tried an old sky box i had and hey presto the lights came on and i can move the motor with the buttons.
The dreambox works but is just not supplying any power to the motor.
    What do I do now?

    Fixed it.

I used an old 12v power supply that i had.
Changed settings to increased voltage and fingers crossed that's it fixed for good.
I've spent more time learning about software and up a ladder than I have watching the bloody thing but I enjoy farting about with stuff.

The power supply i'm using says 12 V, 1000mA will this be safe to keep using or should I buy another one?

    Hi Ettrick,

Really amazing to hear ... that I think I have almost exactly same problem as you had. I have been struggling with it for more than 6 months and it has been driving me crazy! Been up and down the ladder and tried everything ... very rarely it does what it should and more recently it does not move at all. I have the exact same motor as you and also Dreambox 800.

In response to your message I tried to change settings for Voltage under tuner configuration on the Dreambox but motor will still not move.

Can you let me know some more details about the solution that worked for you!

    Thank you very much!

    Hi Andy!
Thank you so much for your quick reply and advice! This is much appreciated!!

I feel a bit less crazy that I am not only one that had this kind of issue ... for first 6 months it was completely random/sporadic ... and I had no idea what was going ...

Is there some specific power supply unit I should look for?

I am a bit nervous about buying the wrong power supply and then causing some other problems ... so any advice / direction you can give me would be much appeciated!

Thanl you again for your help!

    poor me :-(
I bought new power supply ... but still not working

I feel quite empty like I tried everything but nothing worked ... in total I tried:
    - different motor
    - different tuner
    - different power supply
The only dreambox moves motor correctly is with actuator motor which is powered through positioner ... but I don't have this motor and not sure I could set it up ...

On other hand it seems I also cannot use positioner with HH-motor which was my backup plan ... as positioner seems to need the extra 4 wires for power .... and HH-motor does not have connection for these wires ....

Any advice would be much appreciated!
