Default Almera Tino 1.8 Ignition coil problems MEC32-410

    Hi all,

I have a Nissan Almera Tino 1.8 2003 with a starting fault. Originally the car had a misfire, 2 of the coil packs had a very weak spark so they were changed and the car ran sweet for about 44 miles. Then it cut out and misfired worse than it did originally.
Knowing this has a common ECU fault I got a known working ECU, code swapped and changed all 4 coil packs this time. Car ran for 2 miles then died. Now it doesn't start. Crank but no fire!

I've looked in the ECU and the coil driver looks intact, and it no way gives a direct 12 volt output. So my 2 questions are:

Is there any sort of coil amplifier between ECU and coil packs (to go from 2v to 12v) which could cause the fault?

Are their any other known issues I should be aware of?

As always your help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    no start check crankshaft sensor
these engines ignition coils hated moisture
by the way ECU and ignition coils power supply with one double relay if i good remember because a long time ago I had in my hands such a vehicle
I can help you but only if you want me to help you
All the questions should start from what car, what year, what engine is what fuel. What are the symptoms of the problem. Only then is what you know, what fault code, live data, what you have done.

Thanks for your input. Crank is good, I can see rpm signal when I look at live data. Three wires are going to each coil, I am led to believe middle is power and the outer 2 switch earth. I haven't got power at any of them. Nissan told me the relay location which I switched over with another so I am led to believe it is wiring going to the coils Any other suggestions?

hi look on passenger side remove glove box and look next to the blower and side panel , you will see brown relay .

when you turn ignition on this relay should click , check fuse in engine bay .

if the fuse is blown disconnect the idle valve and try again .

this vehicle is electronic throttle or not ?

we had a micra come in short story was no run run

went straight to the blown 20 amp fuse - as could see a hole in the coil

sent it on it's way on 3 cyclnders all well and good

gets a phone call hour later, they robbed a coil out of a running car in parking lot it now died.

we never dared ask what the outcome was.

did see a car of the same color in thier parking lot part stripped, so no idea.

They were just near the plastic housing to the right of the coils. I had some night vision goggles on as well, my lead light ran out of batteries
