Hey maybe for someone helpful. Here you can find some Pictures from my kess pcb.IMG20140612190650.jpgIMG20140612190712.jpgIMG20140612190720.jpg
But i have some Questions:
1.) how can i verify that the readout of the ecu is correct?
2.) sounds stupid, but i got a message that there must be a stable battery volatge. How can i do this best? Or in other words what would you prefer?
3.) What is exactly the recovery mode or how does it work?
If someone is interested, i made a backup of my sdcard (stock) which comes with my unit.
I just got my Kess V2 clone, I have two questions, please help:
1, I was told by the seller, that to get token off, I only needed to reprogram it with JTAG, no need to change the NXP chip. Is this true?
2, I was told by the seller, that I have 60 token on it. How does the token counter works? 1 read = 1 token, or 1 write = 1 token or something else?
Thanks,
I think you'll need to change the chip once tokens run out, from there you won't need to change it again, to confirm this, try read the chip with JLINK. Tokens apply to writes, not reads

Thanks, for your help.
I asked the the seller to confim, they asking their engineer, will come back to me...
I am good at soldering, but there is now way I can change the chip, it is so small soldering required. Any hint what tool I should use?
Also 1 wire = 1 token or more than 1 depending on car. This is the vague answer (depends on car) I got from the seller.
Thanks,
@anemeth
as far as i know you don't have to change the chip.
New devices can just be programmed with jlink....BUT you must solder the "socket" to the PCB and than connect to the jlink.
If you want i can upload a picture to show you how this work.
That's why I suggested try to read the chip, if that's possible, you won't need to change the chip, if you cannot communicate with the chip, it will need a virgin LPC. And one write = one token

look at my post in #1040 if it looks like this one you can write to it with jtag!

Chippy0815 and Bondiblue,
Thanks, looks like it is a good new. Yes, my Kess looks like as per your picture. I also have picture, showing how to solder a connector to communicate with Jtag, I can manage this one. Also good news that 1 write = 1 token.
important is the chip NXP LPC2478
Really one write is equal to 60 tokens. But i think as bondiblu, first time you will need to swap lpc with virgin one, normally china ones comes with CPR3 set and no more comms with JTAG.
Did someone tested edc16c35 ECU with this tool?
