Default Freightliner Century/ Columbia Smart Shift Converting to Manual HELP!!

    Hello DK friends,

I'm currently working on two Freightliner with Detroit 60 series to convert Auto to Manual Transmission. One is a 2003 Century Class with a ZF auto 10 Speed and the second is a 2006 Columbia with a Smart Shift 2 Gen. I have removed the auto transmission and replaced with a 10 speed Manual. Installed the clutch pedal assembly and stick shift. Then I try to go to Detroit Reprogramming to change the Transmission to Manual but it doesn't detect the ECM. So I used Nexiq tester and it test fine. I also tested connection with Detroit Diagnostic but it fail to connect as well. I am not sure if there is something to do with the automatic transmission wire harness I left behind or there is some wires I need to connect from there to the engine ECM. Has anyone have converted a Auto to a manual before? If anyone has the wire schematic for this year and model will help a lot.

check power on the 5-pin connector and IGN on the vechicle harness ECM connector. Connect NEXIQ near ECM J1708 pin.
    connection is successful. Reprog ECM.

zf 10 speed? what model? is it for sale?

I have done several autoshift conversions all of them gen2. It never kept me from connecting to the ecm. on the autoshift you may have to bypass a relay in the fusebox

Just tested with J1708 still no connection. Power light is solid green and both red lights on J1939 and J1708 on my Nexiq interface is blinking. This goes for both freightliner i'm converting. They only thing I did was unplug the transmission ECU wire harness and taped into the speed sensor wires and ignition. Trucks will start but I cannot access the engine ECM to reprogram. Any clues?

Any chance you have the wire schematic for 2002 Century Class? I just installed the clutch pedal and there is a clutch sensor with three wires harness but I see a two gray wires with a plug. I removed the plug and the clutch sensor harness fitted the gray wires plug. I'm not sure if this is the right plug for the clutch sensor. Both trucks has the same harness.

You need to first establish a connection with the computer. If NEXIQ flashing red, check powered NEXIQ (mistake) schematic to attachment.
