Hi guys,
just got my "new" Alfa Romeo 166 - year 1998 and I'm already trying to restore the car to fully working state. One of the problems I'm facing right now is the alarm/central locking system. I would like to use some another key and I have an issue with the password, that is needed for succesful programming of new remotes. It's a password, that is not provided by dealer on the code card (electronic code), but a sequence of numbers which i cannot figure out. As I've been going through some topics on the internet, I learned, that the password could be obtained from dealer, but it wouldn't be me if I didn't try to resolve it by myself. There are some units, that should play it's role in remote signal decoding and approving (alarm unit, central locking unit, remote signal receiver), but I think the main unit, I should dig in, is the central locking unit.
Do you guys have any idea which chip (eeprom, uP) is used in the central locking unit for the password storing? Could someone give me the password for my car if I post the dump of the chip here?
Thanks for any info.
Best regards,
Bajt
