    Default Peugeot 407 remote/BSI problem

I have a long standing headache with a 2005 P407, The car works ok then approx every 2 weeks the remote stops working, the engine still starts and runs and the central locking works when the key is turned in the door lock.
In PP2000 screen when this happens there is one remote stored but no remotes synchronised. if you remove the Battery positive for 5 secs and reconnect it, the remote is restored to working and the PP2000 shows Number 1 remote is synchronised and i havent done anything else. and thats it for another 2 weeks.

When its faulty in the PP2000 BSI screen it doesn't see any RF transmission at all from any key, whether known key or unknown key from another 407.

Originally i fitted a new BSI and coded and configured it myself but that didn't make any difference, then i bought another BSI ordered to VIN and had it programmed in a Peugeot dealer by online link to France. I did this incase i had ported over some bad data when i replaced the original BSi.

I have tried all sorts with this, erasing all keys, reprogramming etc, but no difference. It just fails about every 2 weeks without pattern or warning. I havent tried a new key but i cant see how the key could possibly erase or un-synchronise itself and at the same time block any other RF from itself or other key from being received. When it is faulty the PP2000 says the bsi is not in Anti-scan mode.
Am i right or wrong in thinking that the Bsi is the reciever for the RF or is there another unit which recieves the RF which maybe is crashing the BSI.
When this occurs everything else on the car works perfectly, I've also changed the load area/Boot fusebox module which is a satellite of the BSI but isn't coded to the car

Are there any Peugeot SuperTechs on here who can help me because i'm right out of ideas on this

I don't know exactly but like other cars Peugeot have to have separated module remote receiver/central locking. I would find that box first, sometimes with visible antenna, check area above driving pedals.

I'm not a Peugeot SuperTechs and could help you a little as to say you are right, the BSI is the RF reciever.

Photo of a logic PCB from quite old model of Peugeot 406 phase2 (phase1 with IR key with a separated IR receiver) with Simens BSI. The RF antenna is formed by a printed track with one open end. I think all PSA's later RF key car models made BSI like this.

Switching block unter the wheel received the RF.
If you have a access to peugeot server, then try to download new softvare to BSI. Before downloading print all BSI configuration and you must have the correct PIN code.
