Default Wii won't detect USB drive

So I used ModMii to mod my Wii last night, and no matter what, I can't seem to get it to detect my USB drive. Using the channel installed by ModMii, it simply displays "Please insert USB drive" (or something to that effect). With USB Loader GX, it hangs on "initializing USB device". Any ideas?

    Welcome to DK.

That sysCheck looks ok apart from ModMii only installs 2 d2 v8.0 wads you need to install all 7 from d2x v8 Final wad pack

What type of drive are you using and how is it formatted as incompatible drives is the biggest problem?

I've installed the d2x v8 wad pack, but it looks like I'm still having the same issue: USB Loader GX freezes on "Initialize usb device", requiring a manual reset, and the USB channel installed by ModMii just says "Please connect a USB drive". I'm using a SanDisk Cruzer Switch 8GB. According to the USB Compatibility List, SanDisk flash drives work consistently across the board. The flash drive is formatted as FAT32, and has a WBFS folder with a .wbfs game in it.

Well I don't know where you had USB Loader GX from but ModMii doesn't supply that only CFG USB Loader and Wiiflow I assume your using USB Loader GX 3.0?

I've said many times USB flash drives aren't worth using as the capacity is to small for games your better of using a mains powered USB drive.

I loaded USB Loader GX 3.0 just to confirm that it, too, didn't detect the USB drive (in addition to CFG USB Loader). And while I understand a flash drive isn't the most optimal, it is the only thing I have available. Mains-powered USB drives are hard to come by.

You are using the correct USB port the one nearest the edge of the Wii as the other one doesn't work for drives. Actually if Wiiflow can't find the drive it shows you a picture of which USB port to use.

12 months ago I thought I would try a 4GB flash drive to see if it would play games. I used Wii Game Manager to add 4 wbfs games to the wbfs folder and all games worked.

Mains powered USB external hard drives are available just Google them or search fleabay.
