Default Please help me get ULoader past black screen. Do I need to install more cIOSs??

Hi. I want to run Wad games from my hard drive, instead of from my sd card. But, when I try to load ULoader on my soft-modded Wii, I just get a black screen.

I found this link, which gave the op instructions, but they do not work for me:

When I try to follow the instructions given to that op, and I download CIOS 236 installer, and pop the sd card in my wii, it says that it is "Ios 222 Installer." I tried downloading 236 from different sites, and same thing. It says cIOS 222 Installer. And I couldn't seem to run that installer properly either. When I try to install 222 it says "the selected IOS must have dev/des patched to work".

Below is a copy of my SysCheck file from my sd card. But UPDATE: I figured out a temporary work around to load Wii files off my hard drive. I formatted a partition as Fat32, and even though it is not the primary partition. (My WBFS files are in a WBFS folder on a NTFS partition, and they work fine. It is the primary partition).
So, now the Wii is finding the Wad files. But this leads me to..

    ANOTHER QUESTION:
Can I play Wad games without installing them as channels on the wii? If so, how?

Can someone pleeeease help me with all of the above?

I've never heard of WAD games, forget Uloader its old.

If you followed my instructions to the letter in post #4 in that link as you have 14 IOS's that are Stub you won't go wrong with running games of a USB drive.

Hi. I didn't see you responded to this because it went to my yahoo mail's spam. Sorry for the late response...

Wad games = WiiWare games that are in Wad format, that you have to install as channels. But I think there's a way to play them off a hard drive somehow.

I did get my ISO's striaghtened out, but some other questions..

When I use Wad Manager it says something about AMPBROT not being loaded and it asks if i want to use another iso. It's on iso 249. So do I need AMPBROT? And if so how do I activate it? If not, do I used iso249 or iso236 to install wads?

    and

Do you know what those 3 columns in Wad manager mean... IOS, HW, and Pass?

    and

Another odd thing... My Priiloader was crashing when I clicked on "launch title". The screen was going black with code dump. But then I erased a bunch of channels and homebrew filter (because i read it might cause a problem), and now it works just fine. *touch wood*
Should I be concerned about Priiloader not working properly and Do i need homebrew filter, really?

    Thanks.

    Thanksl

Well if you want to play games of an external USB drive follow my instructions to the letter.

You only have 2 d2x wads installed and those are 6.0 not 8.0. You don't have IOS236 installed so you won't play any games of a drive.

PriiLoader shouldn't run unless you press the Reset button unless you have changed the wrong settings.

AMPBROT not being loaded I've never heard of that error, Multi Mod Manager (MMM) has worked every time for me.

You said my syscheck was now quite similar to yours, no?

Btw, installing wad files from a usb/hd is supposed to be quite difficult compared to loading them from an sd card. I heard you have to use some really complex method like using something called triforce or something else. It all sounded really complicated. You think I will be able to do it now? Maybe I should try. But not this moment because my eyes are completely messed up and blurry. I need to take a day off the wii.

Re AMPBROT, what is that? Do I really need it.. is it fine that it's not loaded? If not, how do I install it?

Re Priiloader: Yes, it runs when I hold down the reset button. But I was saying that when I had "Homebrew Filter" and some other things installed it was somehow interfering with Priiloader, because when I clicked on the setting in Priiloader that says ""launch title," the screen was going black with code dump. But then I erased a bunch of channels and homebrew filter (because i read it might cause a problem), and now it works just fine. *touch wood*. But what i was asking was...

Should I be concerned about Priiloader not working properly and Do i need homebrew filter, really?

Is Multi Mod manager an alternative to Wad Manager? Or do you mean it's an alternative to Homebrew Filter?

Someone else had told me to use Wii Flow. I'm not sure what these programs do...

Wii Flow vs Multi Mod Manager.. what's the difference. I've never used either.

    Cheers.

    Daniel

You said When I use Wad Manager it says something about AMPBROT not being loaded I said I've never heard of that error, Multi Mod Manager (MMM) has worked every time for me. That new sysCheck is the same as mine apart form your IOS16 is Stub which doesn't really matter. My sysCheck sysCheck #MKWDueNa

If you want to remove that IOS16 Stub then install my cIOS16-v257

I'm talking about Wad Manager in Multi Mod Manager that's what you use to install wads.

You can try the other 2 USB Loaders, CFG USB Loader and Wiiflow. I like how the game pics flow if you move the Wiimote left or right on the screen its saves clicking a button, but I always use USB Loader GX v3.0.

Wii Flow vs Multi Mod Manager.. what's the difference. I've never used either.

Wiiflow is a USB Loader, Multi Mod Manager (MMM) has extra features but as I've said its mainly used to install wads. If you've never used Multi Mod Manager (MMM) how have you install the 7 d2x v8.0 wads?

I know you haven't heard of that error, but do you know what AMPBROT is? Do I need it? Do you think it's fine if it doesn't load? Or do you have no idea?

Btw, you are right. I DO have Multi Mod Manager, I used it once to get the wads you told me to get. I stand corrected. It seems like a cool program.

You like how the games move in which loader? WiiFlow or USB Loader GX?

I don't think I like Wii Loader as much as USB Loader GX. Which is the best USB Loader in your opinion, USB Loader GX, I guess?

Btw, why do people need to remove stubs? Does it create more memory for channels and stuff?

I have now got wads installing from the usb drive. At first it wasn't working, but that's because I had to make it a primary partition.

    Thanks!

    Your help has been awesome!

As I've said I've never heard of AMPBROT. If you Google it this thread is the only link so AMPBROT isn't needed.

I like how the game pics flow if you move the Wiimote left or right on the screen its saves clicking a button in CFG USB Loader. I use USB Loader GX all the time because I like the layout and there are more game cracks and fixes.

You would have to Google "Why do wii stub need to be removed" all I know is they have to be replaced else USB Loaders won't work.

I'm glad you finally got USB Loader working, please click the Thanks bottom right for the replies that helped you.

    Thanks. I will do that.

Btw, My USB loader was loading even before I posted on this forum... but you helped me with getting WAD files to install directly from the hard drive (instead of the SD card). Now I can do either. And you also helped me with bunch of other stuff like patching ios236 in MMM, and removing stubs and gettings all the IOSs straightened out, etc, etc.

I think I used the wrong terminology.

I meant you helped me with the stub issue.. whatever that was. You said I had too many stubs. So wasn't I removing stubs?
