Default megan 1.5dci hard start P0340 camshaft sens.

Ok here is story...card OK...steering lock OK..all immo stuff related OK..at least at diagnostic via KTS..but car sometimes cant fire up..
I was working on front fuse box because car have aditional taster switch for starter (?) repair it fine put new chinese small relay and now car engage starter on press of buton..like it should be when all is fine..

when car CANT fire up..starter spin for 10 second and stops on diag there is eror 0340 camshaft sensor (something)....is this cam so important for start?
when CANT fireup ..there is about 280 O/min and rail presure is in 3 sec about 280-300 bar..so all this looks fine ..yust cam ..Iwill order new one but sound strange that he is so important..its CAM not CRANK..
any idea ? from french car lovers ...

    Meaty ?

will add picture of repair later
If I was usefull be sure to thank me.......if I was not just do nothing, I can shot lighning and use mind tricks through internet........yea i can....

It is important: incorrect valve timing = NO START
    Year of the car?

Probably it's not cam sensor but belt or chain tensioner.

but in one from 10 starting it start and run fine ???
belt changed few days before (customer story) in renault service (again customer story) they call this big service..

forgot to say..when it crank..sounds like it will catch it, its almost fired but crank stop...so maybe realy wrong timing..I send customer back to ren.serice to check timing belt...will see what should be...update tomorow

ECU has to see cam and crank sync before permitting start. You can see this in live data. On some engines, after start cam sensor does nothing, but most use cam sensor for injector timing ref. So yes cam sensor is very important.

    Here we goooo!
Known fixes and bulletins: intermittent failure to start:
    Faulty crankshaft position sensor

Replace it! (And see how things go.)
Do not send customer to Reno.

dell66 told you to check the timing marks as you can see in the attached document.
If they are ok, go with my previous post.
I suppose you have the K9K722 engine, if not tell me what engine there's under the hood.
