    Default OPEL ASTRA H NOT CRANKING

    Hi all Astra h cant crank ,2005 16XEP

    no coms to ecu and body control unit
    used TECH2 in the cluster said mandatory ecu missing!...and then identified that the steering column(CIM)..no coms
    went to buy a secondhand unit not the same (opel saferi) pluged in still not cranking
    have checked fues in the boot and engine bay
    maybe thats the wrong CIM or wring issues ? ,Can someone please help ?

    Sound like you have earth issue . Give direct earth to the engine or Ecu body and try connect to Ecu using tech2

    Change to a new or good and everything will be OK.
    Move your data from the old.
    This is the current topic for me in 2022.10.

    Probably your cim module or body control module damaged.
    If you have communication with all other modules except engine ecu,EHPS and body,your body module is damaged.

    cim has to be coded to car with immo pin
    Auto Locksmith,Tuning,Dpf Removal,Dtc Removal,Immo Removal,Ecu Adaptation,Crash Data-Clear.

    Yes and you must have PIN from old and new CIM. Second see manual for new coding on OPCOM web site.

    Simple if you have tolls for it.

    Put original cim back on car friend and unplug ABS and see if it cranks, if it still doesnt crank plug abs back in and then unplug SDM which is at the back of the centre console , if one these modules is down (CAN/short on can problem) it shuts starting down, been down this road recently three times, but maybe yours is just a cim problem, but please just check the above first
    sounds daft but try!! SERIOUSLY

    p.s. and like ZOGLDI says cim coded, need orig pin for cim/reset and pin for your car

    have re scanned sytem
    no coms to ecu and CIM

    fault code in engine bay fues box starter relay circuit faulty(permanent fault)and car cranks if i supply the replay )

    have disconnected ABS and Air bag unit ..still no coms
    must be a wiring problem

    Maybe ...
    Open Opel Tis and trace can lines .Start from obd connector and you easy find what module is problem.
