    Hi
I swapped the cluster and the mileage changed so it has to be in the cluster.
    Thanks

Your seeing the miles off the other cluster because the VIN in the replacement cluster isn't matching the VIN in your BCM. Once your VIN matches your BCM, your BCM will mirror the cluster. Hence, the miles are in the BCM.

So did you have to modify the VIN in the cluster, or did it correct itself with a short drive?

I have a 2005 Ion with a replaced used cluster, the replacement cluster shows the car mileage that was pushed from the BCM, but its not counting any further. if the mileage updated would the vin be pushed as well? if not is the chip a 93c56 or 93c66? if so can i read the eprom with my carprog and just edit the VIN on the cluster to match the cars vin? or do i have to clone or transplant something off the old cluster?

I'm working on an Ion with a replacement cluster. Is the vin stored in the 93c66? Should I write the original backup to the wrecker yard cluster?
