    Default 2011 Peugeot 207 Power Steering P0606

I've been asked to look at a 2011 Peugeot 207 with dead power steering. There were a couple of CAN-BUS errors on the engine ECU but they cleared OK and haven't come back. Internal module error on the BSI that also cleared and hasn't come back. The EPS is not working at all. The only fault code on the EPS is P0606 - which is described as internal ECU error.

Now I know what a quality motor these things are and how bad the steering racks are for failing electronically. I have been reading forum posts (as you do) and a couple seem to insist that it is the main engine ECU that causes the EPS module to throw this P0606 fault code. Has anyone had this and did it actually turn out to be the engine ECU and not the EPS rack/module?

Obviously I don't want to dive in and change the rack i its not that - even though thats what it looks like to me. Any help appreciated.

Need to play with myself a bit more first.

LOVE your thread on that INFERIOR forum, but can't join as I'm allergic to INFERIOR forums.

Here's a bit of memory address info on the S2A that not been put over there. I'm sure they can find it if necessary - I'll drop it over there in a while. The Ampy 5325 should really be the target now but (and its a big BUT), THEY are gonna bum us with new stuff in next few years. They were supposed to be reaming us with it from end 2015 but its been put back 5 years. I just hope they are are as arrogant in the future as they are now. Look at the American stuff - "termineter" - very good Python but more coding biased than the implementation but is VERY good and relevant.

BTW not had anything back from the termineter man. Started years before him. Left a teaser with comms open but go figure. Some of my old friends from CDC ought to have poked them over there. Maybe all the cows are dead now.

Pity there's not a relevant sub forum here. Maybe should be started and called "Giddy programming ~~~~"

Either ways, easily sortable externally if we need it.

Not fully understanding the programming part.

    ON ORGINAL TOPIC:-

Only came in yesterday got a pug207 think abs module dead/lost power. Power steering moaning about speed input, try unplugging abs see if you can upset steering more then plug abs in see what happens

I thought when ABS was dead there was no comms to EPS. Only had a cursory look at it so far anyway.

All I meant about the programming is that there aint a subforum here.

    Cheers.

This is very common on 207's between build code/DAM of 12110 and 13233 , fix is a new rack motor that is now available instead of complete rack. After replacement the motor needs calibrating.Hth's,
