    Default Audi A3 8P 2012 immo lockout

    Hi,

I was trying to make spare key with MVP Pro. I tried to get pin and precoding from ecu and from cluster but no success. At last, I entered 'auto immobilizer detect' to see if it find pin automatically. After web security challange it gave command 'all unavailable keys will be erased, do you want to continue'. I didnt want to continue as didnt have pin/precoding so didnt know the procedure will succed so went back. Wanted to say 'I cannot do that spare key' to customer. But now the car doesnt start on original key and in immobilizer status there is 'immo lockout' It was 250 min, now is 130. Is there a chance that after that time, the car will start? On original key, the dash does not display any SAFE or immo active. On new key, without transponder, there is SAFE.

Yes you were right. After lockout, the car started on original.

MVP is so 'unfriendly' for such car... Engine code was not on the list so tried to read pin from couple of listed ecu types - no success. Then tried from Cluster TP 2.0 - no success. Then some other listed and still no success. I don't really know what 'automatic immobiliser detec' function does but I just wanted to check if it will try to find pin code. After AD web challange, it went to screen where I had: erase keys, program keys, immobilizer status and key status. No mention of pin code reading... When entered 'program keys' it displayed all unavailable keys will be delated but I dont know what next screen would say (if I would press enter). Maybe it will start searching for pin/precoding then... Soo much chaos on this menu. I will ask on AD forum and try again if they tell it's worth. I have vin and engine code.

Actually AVDI doesn't do 2009+ as it MUST read the ECU cos dash is locked out.
In fact, I've struggled on some eariler with AVDI - if car has been "chipped", which is not uncommon on these, the ecu flash comes back with random CS & pin-code data.

So to sum up, about 07+ dashes are lock'ed out. You need to do via eeprom 09-12

Are you trying to use instrument CAN to add keys to these?
