Default BMW E46 330D Immobiliser removal

    Hi All,

I'm just new on here but was hoping that maybe some of you may be willing to share your knowledge with me. I have an M57 out of an E46 BMW that I would like to transplant into my Land Rover Defender.

The engine uses the DDE4 ECU (which I believe is Bosch EDC15C4?) and the EWS3.3 immobiliser. I was initially hoping that I would be able to edit the EEPROM data to remove the Immobiliser but I didn't have much luck finding information and so decided that I would pay someone to remove it. Unfortunately the ECU has been returned with an emulator connected and glued to the board which isn't exactly what I wanted, if I can avoid it.

Does any one know for sure that the immobiliser could be removed by changing the EEPROM data? Also any pointers on what EEPROM programmer to buy? I'm thinking of getting this: http://www.mcumall.com/comersus/stor...idProduct=4282

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thanks
    Mike

    Hi Masterprog,

Thanks for the input, I was starting to get the feeling that it was only going to be possible with an emulator. Is this my only option when it comes to an emulator? Can you suggest anything better/cheaper?

    I have two ECUs, one is 281 010 144 and the other 281 010 314, both EWS 3.3 I believe.

For the EWS emulator I need the ISN, do I have to remove the EEPROM 5P08 from the ECU to find out the ISN (It appears that the ISN isn't visible in INPA with EWS3.3?)?

If I do need to remove the EEPROM to read out the data inorder to find/calculate the ISN is there an EEPROM programmer than you would suggest? I've found a couple of options so will just give one a go otherwise.

    Thanks for your help!!
