I HAVE A valtra tractor with the above ATMEL ATMEGA 32 44pin processor , i have calculator for this mcu , i have original XPROG and Orange5 , is it safest to fully remove this processor for reading \writingproblem is that i dont have QFP adapters for either Orange5 or Xtool, i dont want to damage this processor as new dashboard is 1000 euros , any help appreciated ??

Provided you have something to place it on for reading, then removing will be safest, Apply some gel flux on the pins, heat with a hot air gun until you can nudge it and all pins move, then lift, '

If you have nothing to put it on, then short the crystal pins together, They only control the peripheral pins, and will prevent it from booting before and after the programmer is used, meaning all non programming pins stay high impedance,

The second option still has a small risk of damaging another IC that the micro is connected to on a programming pin, so your call,

i need to buy a QFP Adapter for hhe above atmel 44pin surface pin poocessor, ive tried all my usual sousces bu no joy/ can anybody help me find one please
