Default VW RNS 510 none CD SW loads, how to burn CD properly?

    Hello my dear collegues,

I have a strange fatum over me, I cannot update any RNS 510 with my CD's, when I borrowed CD from my friend it worked like a charm, but when I copied his CD and I'm trying to use mine every single radio shows me middle finger (CD/DVD error). I have tried different CD makes, different record speeds like 16x 8x 2x 1x even different computers.

What I'm doing wrong? What CD's, record speeds and other parameters are you using??

    Best regards!

    Hi,
mostly I have no problem with updating RNS510. Only one important thing was to pick up good quality CD/DVD. I have used Sony and Verbatim, both of them make good job. Some of RNS's have problem with read CD's, but then I have recorded new software on DVD and ewerything goes as well. Remember to use lowest speed as is possible, as burning software I have used Nero.
    Have good day!

If it helps I got through loads of cd's trying to update my rns-d. In the end I used Nero and a verbatim cdr. At first it didn't load but on second try it worked, took ages but updated perfectly. I didn't burn the disc very slowly as my burner refused to. So use a good brand cdr and give it a few try's. Good luck

@radmorek, sometimes not even map tool doesn't work unless you clean/replace the laser lens
