Writing BDM file back by OBD

On a opel Astra with edc16c39 if read by obd only one of the 2 maps can be read. If the ecu is read by bdm both maps are read, ny question is if i read ecu by bdm can i then write back by obd and will the tool write both maps back by obd or just the one?

Hi, you cannot write a full bdm flash file to obd and expect that the tool will write all file. On obd connector only a part of flash is accessible for reading and writing.

it depends from tool, mpps write only one zone...kess 1 and 2 write two zone perfectly....

Great i wrote with kess v2. Would galetto v54 write 2 zones back by obd?

You only get the MAPS (upper 256Kb) by using OBD (filesize is still 2Mb)
The lower 2Mb - 256Kb can only be read by BDM (code where the MPC562 processor runs on)

I can say i many time write BDM file in Opel edc16 use Fgtech via OBD! read via BDM BDM100.

I use a Galetto 1260 to read and write the maps (only), by OBD (Alfa EDC16C39)
No problems !

You CAN'T get a FULL read by OBD !

Astra H 150hp write bdm via kess obd no problem, but today Alfa 150hp edc16c39 write flash bdm via kess obd and ecu bricked, injectors cleared, tool didnt correct checksmums in all areas (dpf egr stage1 swirl dtc's vmax off), but after 60mins car back to life via write bdm & injectors recode multi ecu scan (launch didnt work)
