    Default Benz w204 steering column, LIN Bus 1 Malfunction

    hi guys, I took out an ESL out of a Benz W204 to replace a faulty motor now i have a
    problem with a hooter and steeirng wheel buttons not working. i diagnose it with xentry
    and gives me a U100800 LIN Bus 1 has Malfunction error code.

    check plugs from clockspring to airbag, 2 connectors clear and brown, check both

    ive checked the plugs, airbag is fine no fault code from it only the hooter and buttons that dont work and I didnt remove
    the steering when i carried out the job.

    Not sure if there is a link bus converter on steering wheel or not, looks sort of like a can connector, converts line to can, if not the steering column module is faulty. What year is your car? Let me know and I will check for you

    Check steering column pin 4,5,6
    Check steering wheel plug same pin
    4 - power
    5 - ground
    6 - data
    See if any short circuit.

    If have spare steering column and steering wheel, try swap.
