Has the steering column been changed? If a secondhand one has been fitted, will start until battery disconnected or flat. When reconnected immobiliser kicks in because it doesnt match.

Yes, but has it been changed previously? The problem wont surface until the battery either goes flat or gets disconnected. Seen it lots of times on these.

The battery discharging or being replaced shouldn't cause the problem you have but try inserting the key and switching the ignition on for 5 seconds, then switch it off, wait another 5 seconds and switch it on again, repeat this a few times and it should start.

If not then there is a fault with the car system, I was told years ago I just remember, when you enter in the car with intelligent key system this car will only crank and start when you press foot brake, on this occasion when you press the foot brake the immo does not give you access to ignition switch to start the car therefore with manual key turning will not start the car because brake switch wiring is also connected to antitheft system.
Try fitting new brake switch, all the best.
