Hi,
CDR 2005 radio which shows "PANEL" on the display
I have the code but just can't get prompted to enter it, have tried everything ie, radio off - ignition on - hold down AS button as I'm switching on radio- that didn't work. Tried holding down number 6 while turning it on that didn't work. As I turn it on and off it's saying 10SAFE or PANEL.

Does serial number in c16 dump match serial number etched into radio chassis? The only time I seen this happen on a VDO CDR-2005 is when somebody has put dump from a VDO CDR-500 inside it instead. Message on screen is because it can't sense the security panel (removable keypad which all CDR-500 radio have) is present.

So it can be that dump not original, OR ..... there is corruption in the original dump which makes it look for a removable security panel. Either way, you need to change the 24c16 dump and it will not show the "Panel" error buddy.

Panel could well mean the front panel is not plugged in correctly and thinks its missing..

Just re-read above, it shouldnt be saying this as its a cdr2005 so i concurr with KierAns20.. drop the dump and lets have a look at it..

I have the same problem on screen its show PANEL after a keep pressed AS button and power on, the display has change to 10SAFE and do nothing with 1,2,3... memory buttons.

I think the invalid counter is overflowing
code entry attempts. Reset attempts and check after
this.

Use original firmware and press "ON" and hold "AS" until beep...
