Hello all,
a mecanic friend have change the engine from a BMW 320D E46 from 2001, and now the car wont start, just start the starter and no star engine.
Always keep the error 42 in the engine ecu, only have the delphi diagnostic tool.
Please someone can help to tell what to do? immo off maybee? realigment?

some cars start with this error (42 eeprom or coding) some not ...but a commun fail is injetion pump ecu and for this car there is no fault code generated

Hi.
Have similar problem, car was working (customer said) and suddenly stopped. Now on diagnose error 42 and error 8. Car no more start.
Here eeprom and flash read from the ecu, is possible any of them got corrupted? Now trying to clone both flash and eeprom on another same numbers ecu to see if really ecu got defective as error 42 says.
please check if possible corrupted and can fix.
Car is far away from here so in the meantime i will try to clone and check the scrapyar ecu in car.
