    Hello Guys,

I have somehow the same problem, bmw 530 2006 E60 with bad ecu. Got a replacement used ecu coded it with original avdi (abrites) but the car did not run good. It was low on power. It started and run, but no power.

Today I tried to reflash another .bin to the ecu and the ecu bricked. It doesn't start the car anymore.

I am sure there is a way to do it with the original avdi, but I cannot find it. I can do ISN coding and synchronization but how to get the correct flash to the used ecu to make the car run perfect.

    Anyone can help?

Should i plug the old (original ecu) and pull the binary from it and then save it, flash it on the new (used) ecu?

and one more question, how do i know if the binary is corrupted or no?

besides ISN, you need to have correct power class, otherwise it will be on safe mode, without power
to check the power class, read CAS and DME in ncsexpert and see what they have there.
also you should find correct ZB in kmm file and flash it with winkfp

    then it will run fine

Do i have absolutely to use ncsexpert and winkfp ? can't this be done with my avdi

I will look into ncsexpert and winkfp softwares see if i can get it to work.

I am not really familiar with the power class, is it something that can be changed by "coding" or i have to manually change some inputs or binaries.

You mean read cas and dme dumps right?

I have at first to get the car running first, since it seems I bricked the ecu yesterday while attempting to flash it with another firmware with avdi.
    The flash was not successful.

    Thanks for your input

I was able to get the car running on another ECU. Wrote vin and ISN via avdi.

Tried to code the powerclass via avdi too, but it was not possible.
I think because the DME have more than 10 hours...found that by research.

Now how to change/edit that powerclass...

After that i think all will be ok

    Little update,
I was not able to figure out how to change the powerclass, so what i did is that I tried many ecu's that i got on loan from a parts store till i found one with the proper powerclass.
I was checking by plugging the ecu and then checking it's coding on avdi.
Finally after i tried 2 ecu's i found the one that the powerclass match, so i flashed it with avdi, then didn the isn and vin. Car started but had some problems, so i used my other scan tool to code the dme, and it all worked perfectly.
I had to code also the abs module.

But i am still wanting to know how to change the powerclass on the msv70, how to pull the complete dump (actually i know how but what tool to use?), and what tool to use to read those ecu's? would xprog clone work?

you need to zero running hours, then you can change power class

MSV70 is MPC563 and full clone can be done thru BDM port.......
Guided fault finding = Feature that many factory scan-tools have and real technician despise it.
