I also have the recovery disk from hackmii as well. It did not seem to work on my system. I did try to use a third party GC controller.

I have a similar problem. Fully bricked my Wii with Wanikoko's 4.1 updater. Wii was on 4.0E. Now just have a black screen when I turn it on. Can't get into recovery mode with GC controller. ( It is a third party controller but it works fine on another Wii. ) Can a DriveKey or Wasabii DX set to autoboot and the UUBD resolve this issue? If I can get a disc to autoboot or get the Wii to read a file from the SD card i'd be golden. Only other way I know of fixing this is with an Infectus by hex editing a NAND dump and flashing it back to the Wii. I really don't want to take that route. Any ideas????
