Default Anti Pollution Warning Message and Symbol

    Hi,
I accidently filled my Peugot 307 diesel with petrol.I took the car to a mechanic friend of mine and he drained the tank and filled it back up with Diesel.Car is running perfectly except I have an orange symbol looks like an engine on the dashboard and the words anti pollution comes up o the display.

Can anyone tell me what the symbol means and what the anti-pollution warning is plz and how I would go about getting rid of the symbol and the warning.

    Thanks

hi orange light is the mill light (check engine) and anti polution light might go out after a few tanks of diesel through it. also recommend putting some slick50 in the tank and take it down motorway in 4th gear keeping it above 3000 revs to force regen exhaust to help with the flush out. hopefully it hasent cloged the fillter in the exhaust very expencive. good luck

Take the car to a dealer, have the diagnostic trouble codes read and based upon what you find decide what to repair.
Continuing driving with the problem may damage the particle filter and those are expensive.

Doiesn't need to be a dealer, they are usually more expensive than independents, ask around and try find a garage that is recommended by a friend, call them and ask if they have suitable diagnostic equpiment...... Your in Glasgow I am sure half the garages there all use PPS software

    Hi Jimcee

Well, lets first sort this thing out Is Your Car Petrol or Diesel ?

Second thing NO Metter weather your car is Petrol or Diesel on Peoguet when you have Engine Fault you will see the Message saying Anti Pollution fault because its a Emission fault.

Now the best bit for you to do is As adviced by Oldford get the Car diagnosed by any garage whos got diagnostic kit and see what fault codes are and see what they advice you.

If you not sure than just post those codes here and we will try and help you out..

    Hope This Helps

    Ash
