Default Help needed re: Keys for Peugeot 4007 - where do i start?

    Folks -

Starting in this subforum to kick off. Situation as follows.

I have bought a Peugeot 4007 - Mitsu Outlander clone. Got it very cheap - as it was stolen / recovered. All above board and have the logbook.

However, an aftermarket key fob and remote unlock have been added - no original keys - remote or otherwise.

It comes with one aftermarket key - a "Silca" brand.

Everything working as it should but wouldn't mind exploring the options of trying to remove some of the mods and going back to stock style and keys - so a remote key to open/close/drive the car.

To that end - where do i start? I have been quoted a huuuuge amount by the dealer for 1 x replacement key and coding (over £400 for one key).

Is there any way to do it cheaper - buy the key and blade elsewhere, then get it coded somewhere? I also need a spare key - i presume that the silva has some transponder inside coded - and if so could this be duplicated?

I have no idea of the transponder or remote frequency - all i know is the the blade is a MIT11R. I have the little code card for keys along with the rest of the car documentation.

Any help would be mightily appreciated - plus advice on where to get everything - and if i source a key - do i then go on the Immo sob forum and ask for advice there?

    Thanks in advance!

I think that here you didn't get help, because this is forum for professional locksmiths and in my opinion you should go with this to this kind of person.

But if you really want to try so first you must find "cheap" key - hint: http://www.car-keys-online.com/produ...608471480.html
If this similar platform to outlander you can try manual procedure, but i think that in this case will be needed proper equipment.
Immo will be most problematic - here for sure you need some diagnostic tools or keys programmers.

Thanks very much for the prompt reply, much appreciated. As regards the need to take tomprofessional, Yep - fully aware of this.

Any recommendations of friendly board members in Northern Ireland who could recommend a decent locksmith?

You have a working key,and a working remote,if i were you i would have a KD900 DS type key made up,your aftermarket remote can be cloned onto the remote as the aftermarket remote kits are usually fixed code.in the end you will have a nice working flip key at low cost.compared to a new original.
