hello, my ecu Focus 1.6 TDCI 0 281 015 242 8M51-12A650-XC is dead. I want to make clone. Should I buy ECU with same number or are there any replacements numbers?

If there's a PCB/hardware number on the sticker then if you get one the same you can clone the flash/eeprom from yours assuming you can read them (even if your ECU is dead this is sometimes possible). Or maybe get dumps of your ECU from DK or wherever and program new ECU up and code keys in. Only way to find out is to try. Take back off your ECU and search for images of ECUs and see what part numbers they have. Ive cloned ECUs with different numbers but you need the circuit boards to be identical in any case. You can also reflash with VCM but you will need to fool IDS into thinking its a brand new ECU. Just dont turn ignition on when IDS tells you to then enter your original ECUs 8M51 number when asked.
