Default VAG 2.0TDI EDC16U1 with mk6 climate control unit

We would like to install the golf mk6 climate control unit in a 2005 golf mk5 2.0tdi 16v bkd

so, the only problem is, that the ac compressor doesn‘t run
starts for about 1 second and then shutoff

faultcode: deactivation by ecu via can

    Ecu is a EDC16U1

i heard, with later ecu, there won‘t be any problems btw problem solved with an update

but we have latest update on ecu

    any help?

I have exactly the same problem. Skoda octavia with BKD engine/EDC16U1. Installed newer climate controller and compressor doesnt switch on. I think, that ECU and Climate Controller (UDS-protocoll) doesnt communicate correctly. Only Option is the replace ECU by EDC16U31. They are pin compatible. There are BKD engines with EDC16U31. But if you install U31, you will get trouble with glow system. Both ecu´s uses different glow relais. But this is solvable problem I think.

    Hmm

EDC16U34 is no option because DPF...

Have you tested it with edc16u31?

it would be help to know the differences between U1 and U31/34 for compressor control in flash file

You misunderstand me. You have a Golf5. I took a look into ELSA. The BKD engine was built into Golf to 2009. And because engine is still BKD, of course it is still without DPF. Your car hasnt DPF, too. One look into ETKA -> Golf -> 2009 -> electric parts -> ECU = 03G906021PP is for BKD, no matter DSG or manual transmission. You can code it to DSG or manual. I´m rather sure, that this ecu will let you climate working. And the best is, you can plug it into car, the pinout is the same. Only Glow Time Controller is different. I did not test it myself, but I´m sure, that it will work. I already have the right ecu, but at moment no time to test. Too much work... :-)

It can be fixed in the EDC16U1 file.
