Motronic 3.8.3 bench cable

Hi guys, i'm trying to make a bench flash cable for M3.8.3 ECU off an Audi A3 (agu, 8l0 906 018 aq) and can't find the pinout

Could someone in the know share this info, please.

M3.8.3 cannot be benchflashed. It's solder job only.

Really? I have only tried to read from a couple of M3.8 and that has never worked, and I didn't bother to try writing it.

In that case I'm sorry for miss-leading you...

I'll see if i can find pinout.

Hi Guys, just wondering if this ever went anywhere. I now have an A3 1.8T to play with, same AGU motor but a slightly different 06A 906 018 CJ ECU. Supposedly its can be bench flashed but I still have my doubts. None of the programs or hardware I've seen cover that ECU range at all. I've seen the ME7 bench flash cable thats available but thats it. The ME7 was used in the later A3s but not the pre 2000 ones as per the AGU series

I'm going to remove the chip and reprogram but if it can be done with a bench flash it would save me a lot of time especially if we have a few revisions with different turbos and injectors and so on

M3.8 has a 29F200 chip as I recall. This should work on the bench in bootmode, but also by me it never worked.

I ended up doing a solder job, desolder, reprogram & resolder it back in. Works great but what a lot of work required and definitely a steady hand

If anyone has the pinouts I'd still be keen to look at some options. I know we have guys here flashing on the bench so it can be done
