2014 FORD ESCAPE U3000:4A "Control Module" Error Fix

I recently had a problem with 2014 Ford Escape SRS module with U3000:4A.

Problem: Car came in after body shop work for module reset. After initial reset, the crash data was erased but U3000 showed up.

Root cause: After searching this forum I tried to disconnect seat belts but nothing. Later I disconnected EVERYTHING. All air bags and sensors.

Action: The problem was the ODS sensor. When I disconnected the Passenger seat the U3000 went away. The body shop installed a seat from a different year, I thought. Re-ordered a seat for 2014 Escape but they brought a seat with the same part number ODS. Called them again and ordered the seat for 2015 Escape. The seat showed up with different ODS but same harness. When I installed it the U3000 went away.

Solution: Disconnect ODS sensor if you have U3000:4A error (“Control Module”) If error disappears replace the passenger seat with a correct seat or year above/past.
