    Default 2017 Chevy Silverado

Hey all! I have a customer with a 2017 Chevy Silverado whose ecu got damaged during accident and he purchased a used one.
Now my question is will SPS be able to program the used module to the truck? Don’t want to have to pay only to find out it won’t work. Thank you in advance!

A 2017 will be Global A architecture and does not support swapping of used modules, only NEW. SPS will not help you with swapping in a used one.

That being said, some have had success swapping a used module, but it is not easy, and the info to achieve that is scarce.
Please DO NOT PM me asking for help.

Post in the forum, that is what it is here for.

Now that I actually have the truck and ecus in my possession, turns out it’s a 2014 and not a 17 like customer said. But based off of my readings 2014 is still global a correct?
I attached images of the ecu and pcb, could anyone point me in the right direction as far as what flash/eeprom or mcu I would need to read and copy to the other ecu? Thanks a lot!

Not good seen on yours photo. It looks like you have some MPC and Spansion flash and eeprom. Read what write on big chip with black glue around him.

SPS does not like used ecm on global a ... but if you have bcm along with ecu from same donor car you can read pin code from doner bcm and once you have pin code from donor you input that pincode into sps pop up that ask for pin after that seed and key password gets synced with new used ecm.... Its do able but ecm are cheap under $300.00 so really not worth the time unless you are somewhere that gm parts are scarce.... goodluck
