    Default Corsa D 1.4i (Z14XEP) cold start issue.

    Hi all

    I have a 1.4i Corsa D with the Z14XEP engine. The car start very difficult when it stood for a while. It seems that when the car is cold, the fuel mixture is very lean. While trying to start it, i push the petrol peddle also and after the third to forth attempt it will start. While trying to get it to start one can hear that the engine is getting fuel but it seems to be to little. I have also observed that when I spray easy start into the intake a cold start is much easier.
    Once the car is hot, it starts first time every time.

    I have done the following:
    - There are no error codes
    - I replaced the 2 terminal temperature (multi function) sensor as this can cause too lean mixture during cold start
    - Compression on all 4 cylinder is good and almost identical
    - New spark plugs
    - New air-cleaner
    - Checked for vacuum loss on the intake.
    - Checked the spray pattern of the injectors.
    - Eventually when it starts (cold) the vacuum is 20.4 in/Hg (reported by the ecu)

    What more can I check or try?

    Corsa D Z14XEP does NOT have fuel filter...
    I can calculate ABS module codings for:
    * Continental/Teves MK60EC1 and MK60;
    * TRW systems in Passat B6 / B7 / CC /Tiguan;
    * MK100
    ;
    * Bosch ABS8.2, ABS9.0 and ESP8.2, ESP9.0;
    * EBC 460 (UP!, Mii, Rapid, CitiGo, Fabia, Toledo, etc) New!
    *
    ... and other VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda modules.I can assist with repairing \/CDS interfaces.

    As per original post: No error codes. Crank and cam position sensor works since the car does eventual start. It is as if there is not enough petrol during the cold start that is why I described it as running to lean.

    Yes no fuel filter. This must have something to do with the cold start system. Not sure how to check the manifold flaps.

    OFF TOPIC:-

    ford fiesta like year 2000 have two idle maps, one gets corrupt and when idle map 1
    once over 5mph map 2 which ups rpm a little.

    get to traffic lights, cuts out, unplug speed sensor so never off idle map 1 no stalling

    ON TOPIC

    ASK local dealer cost of reflash ing software in ecu

    Try to start with no pedal push. You are putting it in clear flood mode.
