Can someone please help check my work on adding new key to this eeprom? IMG_0770.JPGIMG_0769.JPG
Was able to get it done. No one ever responded to this post but maybe it will help someone someday.... Here is how I did it. Removed ECU and desoldered eeprom chip 93C86, read chip with Orange 5, used FVDI select Toyota then special functions then dump tool, load original eeprom file, it auto identifies system as Toyota smart system, insert dealer prox key into program ring and select make dealer key, save file, write prepared file back to 93C86 with Orange 5, solder chip back to board, install ECU, touch prox key to start button, dash lights up, push start and car runs. Please note remote functions don't work until second prox is added to the system via OBD with programmer. Then all hands free functions will work on both prox keys.
Good bit of work there..
These cars are the same as the Toyota GT86 so I guess they used Toyota’s technology for the key system..
I would have expected it to be a Subaru system..

Exactly friend, Tango also works perfect for this vehicle, only that your key has to be virgin if you want the remote to work.
