Default Is it 100% necessary to use a battery stabilizer/charger when reading/writing.....

with Kess V2? Or is it possible to read/write without being necessary?

But is it 100% necessary? I say this because I have a car on the street and I have nowhere to plug in the charger XD

    Mate, it depends which ecu...
You should ask exactly, what you want...
BMW MSD 81 is writing almost one hour for example...

But yes, always better with a charger...
Park a car next to, and use big starter cables...

depends what car/ecu you need to read/write. most of times not necessary.

if you want you can jumper with another car but engine off. just so you have twice the battery. engine on might give very unstable or noisy voltage.

Not worth the risk, a booster can be bought for 50 quid, i recently had an edc17 skoda i was virtual writing and it took 45 mins, i had to cancel write half ways through because battery level went to 11.5 volts (lucky) small price to pay for peace of mind, jumper cables will do but it looks amateur to a customer, even on the bench i use a car battery with a booster attached, never know when you'll get a power cut, , goodluck.

I use this , nothing fancy and I don`t do those BMW that need "10000A" to read a file.
proper cables , connection clamps and corrosion free contacts are also very important

    Better buy one.

Some ecus won't read or id when voltage is 12v or lower.

It's a high risk to do it without voltage stabilization.

It might work on 9/10 cars, but the one where writing fails screws you and makes a lot of headache.
