    Default BMW MSD81 original please

    Does anyone have files for
    5WK93758
    MSD81
    7622911
I tried to pull data with Kess clone and always error
    Out of a 2012 1M

    Trying to clone it to
    5WK93714
    MSD81
    7586933

I'm worried map data is different being 1M has higher output motor
IM608 won't communicate with 1M MSD81 for me too pull flash and peak around

    Maybe hardware is too different

I don't think KESS clone can do this job.

as far as i know kess can NOT do full clone job, you need something like flex or ktag ori

MSD81 = MSD81 so if you do full clone it will work...

You need original Ktag for. Clone cant read password.
And kess cant do anything for cloning them.

Alternativ you can use AT200 to read and change ISN... after do coding stuff.

    I really appreciate the advice.
My expectations of the ktag and kess clones were very low.
I only bought them to tinker before I purchase the real hardware.
I can get the chip password with my IM608+GBOX2
But saving the data from reading only gives 16KB file
I can then change the ISN and the VIN with Autel software
Then use my K+Dcan cable from bimmergeeks to code

My worry is that if this MSD81 is used to replace the MSD81 out of the 2012 1M
It wont have the correct maps for the high output motor and subsequently the performance will be off
It is a really nice car and the customer is a very good guy
I thought about telling him he may have to seek a more experienced BMW tech for this job
but I would like to exhaust all my ability to gain some knowledge

There is so much that goes into BMW its mind exhausting.
I can't ask him yo pay for a job I am not 100% confident in

Easy solution is to read isn out of MSD and insert to cas, job done in 30-45 min, or u can change ISN in MSD but than need to read both ecu,s and write 1, any way to do that you need bit more expensive tools than Chinese kess.

You must change isn to new ecu to start car. Then se working hours to 0 in order to code it with proper power class. Then program it with istaP in order to use proper maps.

I'm looking into flex, I've heard mixed things about ktag original so I am on the fence with it.

I have the ISN changed with the new MSD81, that was no problem! Fortunately I've done that many times.
Can't for the life of me figure out how to change working hours to 0 so that I can change the powerclass..
The orginal MSD81 has powerclass 01
    replacement powerclass 00
I do have ISTA/P so I think I'am covered there if I can figure out how to change working hours and powerclass.
Everytime I think I have some BMW stuff figured out, the UK throws a curve ball!
