    Get the V3.
Buy a good one, not a cheap clone.

Hu64, hu100 hu101 hu100r, all off these are very slim.
A bad quality tool will twist, and allow the shims to slip past the levers.

always best to go for latest version as will have the latest improvements on it . though saying that i still have and use alot of the old v1 2in1 tools that were just for doors , older more worn locks tend to read better on the older dedicated door tool , the shoulder reductions and blade extensions on the ignition tools can cause miss reads on the door if not careful to ensure pick is dead square during decode , dedicated door tool i find better on door for quick accurate decode .

the first v1 tool was great on the earlier versions of this lock , but wouldnt get full insertion in slightly later models so v2 was released to sort this , v3 was then released to deal with sunken locks that v2 couldnt get . v3 will get all , and v1 will be more accurate in older lock versions , each has their place and uses , but if only going for 1 tool then the v3 is best coverage .

ive been to quite a few jobs where someone has failed to decode lock due to using an ignition enabled tool and not having the tool dead square when decoding, all blame the tool of course.

its well worth having some of the old dedicated 2in1 tools v1 , especially on those that the extended tools can miss read , especially on older edge keys .

Holy shit Rapid that was a very informative reply !

I’ve just ordered Mr.Li V3 following your advice from Kim at AK.

Went to a job doing a Nissan Qashqai last week picked the bloody door lock then instacode gave me 3 choices picked no2 cut blade opened door perfect.......

Ignition no ( changed ) so had to buy nsn14 ignition pick

I see now what your saying every pick has its place

    Thanks for response 👍🏻

the door will open perfect as you decoded the wafers in the door .
if instacode gave 3 choices , select cutting tree and it will tell you the order to try in and how many possible blades.

personally i use the 10 cut direct reader , i pick and decode the door with dedicated door tool , then use the 10 cut direct reader to read cuts 1 and 2 in ignition , never lets me down.

the NSN14 ignition tool is necessary to get full insertion in later door locks like the juke etc , the old door only tool doesnt get full insertion in some later locks.

the door and ignition direct readers are also very usefull .

they are all useful tools to have , you realise this that 1 time you dont have the one you need.

as i say i tend to pick and decode door for cuts 3 to 10 , i then use 10 cut direct reader to read positions 1 and 2 , saves me picking ignition . only come unstuck once , as ignition was on different key , they wasnt aware of this as never used key in door , so on that one i picked and decoded ignition .

i find with edge key tools the ignition tools can miss read unless perfectly square , the dedicated door tools are accurate as more stable in the door.

dont rule out the direct readers , you will find nsn14 , hu66 accurate and useful and hu87 is a godsend as you cant pick the doors but you can read them with the hu87 direct reader and cut a key

Am learning to do this and I have successfully used the Hu100 for BMW. However I tried the Hu92 3 in 1 on an E70 and I pick in one direction but there is no binding the other direction. Tries all sorts of sequences and tensions and nothing. Strangely in one occasion I managed to pick it in lock direction!!Any advise?
