    Default PSA SID208 ADVICE PLEASE

    Hi Guys

    looking for some advice

was cloning a SID208 PSA, read data org ecu all ok, connect to new ecu and erase p-flash and try to write - failed as sectors not blank

ECU is dead as i believe password has been erased

    tool used: HEXPROG - MICROTRONIK

Is there any way to revive this ecu? It has a SAK-TC1797-384F150EAC MCU, Would i need to replace it and the ecu will have communication again?

    any advice from professionals appreciated

    thank you

I assume you tried cloning with hexprog in factory mode without boot pin? If so, try to boot the ecu you should have communication in boot mode with the ecu

yes tried using factory mode, then tried boot mode 12v 2a but still nothing

    ---- SOLVED ----

for everyone in future to avoid a big headache

for SID208 use boot mode it is less risky
power supply must be 14v or higher otherwise forget about it you not reading this ecu safely
hex didnt erase the password in factory mode, it just didnt have enough power supply to write the ecu

14V is not important, even on your car sometimes have only 12V and or less, and car starts and also your ecu...
the most tool companies write in theier manual 5A should be enough for powering up such an ECU, same problem on simos...
but sometimes 5A is not enough, and I put 10A and or an car battery...

For me battery booster did not work even in boot mode

up until 14v i could not do nothing, the org ecu i had read with lower power supply but not the ecu i was cloning onto

have had this problem in ktag before with ford sid208, 12v 2a or 3a can rarely read this ecu

this is my input and experience of what worked for me

I need some info about hexprog and sid208, can i read it in factory mode with good supply or not, did you have to swap some resistors in power module or not,

    Thanks in advance
