How are you gonna read/write eeprom if there's no motorola eeprom inside It's NEC based EIS module.

I never had W221 but customer asked for replacement and I checked that XP400 can read them showed W221 ST12 - Maybe some models can be read or maybe their mistake

if not possible to be read and write then renew is the only option

Most problem on nec based ezs is bad soldered socket for microswitch. So just take out ezs (old one). Open it, remove the pcb. In most cases the socket of microswitch (for key insert) stays on microswitch. Just take it and solder it back to pcb. If you have other problem with old ezs, just ignore my answer. Notice, that the used ezs can have same problem. Normaly read ezs-data + password + vin and write to another used (renewed) ezs with vvdi mbtool should work. But the ezs should be scn coded also.

    Greets MR...
