    Default Bmw ews cloning questions

    Hello.
Friend has an E38 730d edc15c4, with failing EWS3 module, has to whack the module to unlock starter at times.
I read the original EWS 0D46J dump with AK90, copied dump to spare ews3 module. AK90 failed to rewrite his original key onto new EWS, so used a new key chip, wrote it as key 09.
Didn't touch ECU, or original EWS.
Car started up once, after that ECU says EWS fault, EWS has no fault codes, reads key fine and has connection to ECU.
Swapped back to original EWS, started right up with the new key(???), bmwscanner reads it as key 09, even though I didn't program the new chip onto the original EWS.

Does copying EWS dump from one to the other not work, do I have to virginize EWS? What about ECU, does it need virginizing as well?

    Thanks in advance

If ews type, mcu mask ori and donor is same ......no problem copy/paste then sunhro DLC away, that's it.
All the problems can be due to elmos.
Or you're just looking for a problem in the wrong place........thinking.gif which is more likely.

NB!!! Don't ask in PM old file password , Im not remember.

I am suspecting that your problem is in the antenna or in any case the EWS connector. review and report please

KriptoKey, bmwscanner sees that EWS reads key flawlessly every time, there is also an audible click from the EWS module when everything is fine. But when the problem arises, there is no click, even though it reads the key. When you smack the module, it clicks and car starts fine.
Will have access to the car again tonight, puzzled by the ews fault, will try to resychronize via INPA.

Forgot about the thread, sorry. Original module had indeed a failed ELMOS. Reflashed new EWS again, but reset codes for keys. Resynchronized via INPA just in case. Working as intended.
