Default Ford Focus 1.8 Tddi Fuel pump timing??

Hi Folks, Newbie here, got a huge problem and really hope someone can help!! Got a V reg 1.8 Tddi Ford Focus and am in the middle of trying to change the injection pump. Trouble is, I didn't time it all up before I took it apart and now I'm struggling to time it back up!! I've managed to locate and lock TDC on the Crank and Camshaft, the trouble is can't see any way of locating the pulley to the fuel pump in the correct position. There is a key way in the end of the pump, but no corresponding key in the pulley! I know that I have to locate the pulley with a 6mm drill bit once it's on but don't know where to tighten it in the first place....AAAAARGH!! Any help greatly appreciated

No, it's not common rail, also thanks for the autodata stuff, I've already got that but it doesn't help when the pulley and pulley carrier is removed from the pump. Thanks anyway tho!

As far as ETIS is concerned, it says that the inner pulley is part of the pump assy when replacing the pump.
So if you have "lost" the timing to the pump shaft I think you might have to go to a pump specialist to re-time it before you fit the pump back to the engine

    sorry for the double post

    news flash:
the pump may be delivered in a "locked" condition, where the pump shaft is locked by a hexagon bolt and after fitting, the bolt is removed and either fitted with a spacer or replaced with a shorter socket head.
It is presumably locked in the right position to pin the pulley carrier to the pump body.

Locate the locking bolt and re-time the assy?

After the start of engine verification of corner of passing of injection (impulses of management the valve of passing) the equipment of Ford IDS(WDS) is needed.

If you have installed a second hand pump you will have to get it programmed due to the PATS system ford use.

Nutloose is correct. Timing has been lost when drive coupling was separated from the pump shaft.

This can only be retimed by a Bosch diesel workshop which has the eps815 and vp44 test accessories.
