Becker map pilot module repair help

I was hoping someone could help me with the repair of the becker Map pilot M054 navigation module on Mercedes cars.

Namely, the module stopped responding after a battery change. The car says that it is not connected. The most likely culprit is the memory chip on the module.

If the chip can not be repaired (software wise), does anyone have the part number of the chip ?

Since a simple battery swap turned out to be a potentially very costly endeavor any help would be appreciated.
