Hello All
Please All
What do you want to do ?
I'm not an expert but you may ask questions in Segger forum. Do you go by J-flash or J-link commander ? Quite a lot of setting may need, target resetting is one of the concern and much possible to mcu specific.
Hi
Thanks for the reply
I want to be able to read the firmware from a chip on another board connecting using SWD
I believe that I have been sold a J-link clone rather than a orginal / genuine
I have asked on the segger forum but no responses
I have seen allot of people using J-link here for automative purposes so i thought i would ask here
I have a J-link V9 with a stm32f205rgt6 inside
I have used the latest J-flash and old versions
Which version is the best for such clone ?
I dont have any development boards to try the J-link on but I do have a J-link V8
So I thought I would try and read the V8 frimware using the V9 as a test and once it works I know the J-link is working I can work on reading the firmware from the other board
I keep getting the following errors
RAM check failed @ addr 0x00202000
Could not perform target reset
failed to connect
could not perform custom int seqence
Please help
Thanks all
You have a long good post but missing to say what your target is. And missing to answer on how you did read, by "J-flash or J-link commander"?
RAM check failed and so on is mainly caused by the target was not stopped/halted properly even the J-link says it has been connected, or with wrong address setting.
I'm not sure your device part number is exactly in the J-flash device list, you may read more on Segger's UM08001 - J-Link / J-Trace User Guide section "7.10 Reset strategies" and adapt the settings to your device under Options/Project settings/MCU/Init. step (this is J-flash environment).
edit: my bad read, you used J-flash. So, my suggest would be applicable !

Hi
Is it possible you can help me more to fix this please
Thanks
The target board is a board from an AV receiver with a TMPM361F10FG
but to see if the J-link is working I wanted to read the firmware on a J-link V8
The V8 has a AT91SAM7S64 and the V9 has a ARM 32F205RGT6
Is there any way to un-brick these and flash new firmware
I have used the firmware update using the J-link tools but not sure if it has bricked these
