The old matching procedure (shortening pin 4 and 13 and leave ignition on) for ECU's on Toyota (and Lexus) , does this still apply on 2015 models?
Have a Yaris here which need to change ECU on
It's a Denso - MB275600-5440 / 89661-0DK90

The buying part... just diagnosed the ECU and have to make a decision on how to proceed. If I had the ECU would already have tried![]()
What's the problem with the ECU? Open it maybe fixable
ECU dropping the ball on CAN communication, cannot fix that myself, I have virtually no info on this ecu besides wiring diagram so diagnostics were possible, I just want to place another one, they don't cost that much, If I open it and try to fix for an hour with no positive results still need that other ECU and customer won't pay for the lost time (understandable). But gotta choose wether it will be that affordable used version or an expensive new one. Without info on this thing don't know or easy to program like the old ones or which data to transfer if that would be better or better advise a new one which will cost quite a bit.
just had the 'luck' that I could try.... old ECU decided to drop out on immo after connector was off yesterday for loaded test on powers and grounds... Just did the matching and yes, it worked so no reason to beleive it won't with another ECU
